Reem joined HERC as a researcher in February 2011 to work on the Health Equity and Financial Protection in Asia (HEFPA) project. Her research interests focus on the impact of health interventions, particularly wider health system reforms (such as changes in provider payments systems, introduction of health insurance, etc.) on health outcomes.
Her previous work experience includes working on international health policy, health financing, and health system reform issues within the East Asia and Pacific region at the World Bank.
Reem holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Duke University and a Masters in Public Health from George Washington University. She also recently completed a Masters in Health Economics from the University of York.
