The early surveys, from 1991 to 1994, were confined to adults ages 16 and over but since 1995 HSE has also included children aged 2-15. Sample size for 2007: 14,386 cases (individual file), 24,910 cases (household file), 2006: 21,399 cases (individual file), 30,068 cases (household file), 2005: 13,297 cases.
