Abstract

Contains information on how much data hospitals and treatment centres have submitted to the NJR since the 1st April 2003. Data is provided for whole calendar months and updated on a monthly basis. The statistics are based on the operation date. Data at the hospital level is supplied by both operation date and the date the operation record was submitted to the NJR database. NJR collects information on all hip and knee replacement operations and to monitor the performance of replacement hip and knee joints (implants).

All hip and knee replacements across the NHS and the independent healthcare sector. Sample size varies each year. For example, in 2008 total number of completed operations was 107,656 and 67,982 (year to date 2009)
