The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated existing inequalities and given rise to new ones. Tackling health and economic inequalities in the post-pandemic United Kingdom effectively will require policies based on solid evidence. The purpose of this symposium was to provide a multi-disciplinary forum focusing on effective ways to ‘level up’, from what is known to evidence gaps that future research should address. The symposium brought together perspectives on these issues from leading health economists and epidemiologists. They presented recent evidence and discussed some of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Speakers include:
-Prof Richard Cookson (Centre for Health Economics, University of York)
