Conception Statistics, England and Wales

Abstract

Presents annual statistics on conceptions to women usually resident in England and Wales. It covers conception counts and conception rates for women of all ages, split by age group and also includes teenage conceptions to women under the age of 18. Conception statistics include either a termination by abortion or a maternity at which one or more live births or stillbirths occur. Maternities which result in one or more live/stillbirths are counted only once. Additional dataset shows the number of conceptions to women aged under 18 for England and Wales by Government Office Regions and other local authority areas
