Adam Wishart, Documentary Maker and Professor Amanda Adler, Oxford University

Adam Wishart is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. In 2009, he wrote, directed and featured in the Price of Life, which explains the decision making of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) in the context of high cost cancer drugs, and was nominated for Best Science Documentary in that year’s Grierson Awards. At this event, Adam will provide an overview of his documentary and reflect on how best to communicate the complex trade-offs involved in health economic decisions. Prof Amanda Adler, a former Chair of the NICE Technology Appraisal Committee, will offer her reflections on the documentary and on communicating clinical and cost-effectiveness.
