Bio: Dr Andrew Leigh, is Assistant Minister for Competition, Charities and Treasury in the new Australian Government, where he has responsibilities for the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Prior to becoming a member of Parliament in 2010 he was a Professor of Economics at the Australian National University. He is Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences, and a past recipient of the Australian Economic Societies ‘Young Economist Award,’. He has written over a half-dozen books including: Randomistas: How Radical Researchers Changed Our World (2018). He holds a PhD in public policy from Harvard and graduated from the University of Sydney with first class honours in arts and law.
